MORNINGTON VIEW
During lockdown in Melbourne, Australia we were only allowed to exercise 5 kim from our homes. Seems crazy now thinking about it two years later. But it was happening and we all just had to deal with it. Not that we had anything to complain about because this was our daily walk. We would park our car at the top of Main Street Mornington, grab a coffee and walk up the hill towards Mornington peir and walk along the beach back to the car.
It took a pandemic to slow us all down and appreciate our local area. Mornington Peninsula is a beautiful place to live and we are truly blessed. The Red Bluff, (as I call it) is the centre of other linocuts I have done in the past. I love the bluff and all the tiny houses that sit on the cliffs along the beach front. The trees that line Mothers Beach must be hundreds of years old and are spectacular from the roadside or even out in the water looking back to the beach. Either way, this view inspires me and thats why this hand painted linocut is titled;
"Mornington View".
