Both images are houses on the Mornington Peninsula. I have always been facinated by the people who own caravans. The idea of escaping and being on the road with your home trailing behind you would be a wonderful experience. I often wonder what goes on inside of these caravans that are in the front or backyards of suburban houses. Do they put their teenage son in there? Are they a quiet space for reflection? Are they drug dens where ice is cooked? I make up my own story, take the photograph and go home to make these two linocuts.
I am currently working on number 9 as a set.
