MORNINGTON BEACHFRONT SUBURBIA
This artwork was created during the longest lockdown in the world. Melbourne Australia has been locked down more then any other country. We could only exercise within 5 km of our house. Lucky for me this wonderful place is within that distance. We would buy a coffee and take a walk on the pier across the water. With a telescopic lense you can capture the landscape from a distance. For me, its not the boats, pier, or sea , its the beachboxes and houses that surround the beach. I have done a print run of this linocut of only currently five prints. This is the first print and has been hand-colored with watercolors. I usualy hand paint with inks but for this print I wanted a more subdued and calmer colour palette. The print came out spectacular and will debut at the Mt Eliza North Art and Design Show this October 2021. I know it will be scooped up within opening hours.

Please be aware that these are handmade prints and not digitally printed so you may find faint smudges, creases and textural differences in my work, but if anything I think these marks enhance the work and demonstrate that they are made by real hands!
