Currently making prints in Monoprints for shop in Society6 and selling. I love the multiple layers that can be captured when you use this technique. Currently teaching Gelatine printmaking to students. The process is addictive and depending on the stencils you make can be all be original. These four prints were made with the same stencils. Effectively Gelatine Printmaking is Monoprinting and the possibilities are endless.
Sometimes Students never turn up and I spend a lot of time preparing. Yesterday was yet another No Show. Im guessing Its my respinsibility to be more business orientated and text people the night before. However business is not my forte. Needless to say I was out a day, out $$$, out of enthusiasm as I started my day with a fresh optimism.
Sometimes our best work can be achieved when we are waiting. Take a sketch book with you wherever you go. You never know when you will get some creative time.
I have a new website called Society 6 and it is called "Nye Designs". I am trying to take my printmaking to the next level and have been told my work would look beautiful on fabric. Starting with cushions and hopefully working to another level. Here is the link, testing it at this time to see if it works.
Red Hill Art Show 2014.
This year the Red Hill Art Show had a Master Printmakers section honoring some incredible Printmakers whom I love. They are; Rona Green, Rosalind Atkins, Jasmina Cininas and Heather Shimmen. The work is exciting to see for this Printmaker. Get along to the show, my art is waiting for a home still. Love to all. Billy.
In between teaching printmaking, I work in an art shop. I am also currently studying for my BA in Fine Art and Visual Culture. Time is precious and in between entering shows and looking after a family, I find my Blogging isn't regular. If you do happen to stop by than please make a comment. I would love to hear from you. I enjoy helping people with their printmaking endevours. Look for me on Facebook. Peninsula Printmakers Group and Australian Printmakers Group. All are welcome to join.
Thanks for stopping by!
