Well, so far making a website has been frustrating for me. I of course just want to do my art and designing a web site is not high on the priorities. So far I have uploaded four prints into the printmaking section. I have decided to make it a slide show format to see how it looks.
I have also decided to add two more pages. The first page is for "Drawings" which is under the "Painting" heading and the second one is "Books for Sale". I am thinking this would be a great opportunity for me to add any printmaking books I double up on or find and don't buy as I already have it. Some people are in remote areas where the chances of finding a second hand printmaking books are scarce, so I am hoping to sell my books from this web site.
Other news is that I have began the process of starting my printmaking classes, which begin on FEb 28th Monday's from 12.30 to 3.30pm. I have decided to start off small at two people per class. Build up my confidence and get a feel for the teaching process. I know it will be easy to teach, the hard part will be oganizing myself for the days class and making it different each week. I look forward to this chapter in my life.
This week I also got my application off to the Australian Printmaking Competition by getting resume together and disc of my prints for consideration. This is a big leap for me but you don't get into these things without giving it a go. I entered my print "Dreaming of Life" which I will upload onto the site soon.
I also finished a drypoint etching this week and am trying to find the time to break out the Canson Etching ink and Canson Printmaking paper that was given to me by Glen the Canson Marketing Manager at Christmas. I am so wanting to try it out but have not had the time since starting work in the art shop over Christmas.
Last thing on the agenda is a new lino cut that I have started. Its been a while since I have done a lino cut...I have usually focused on woodcuts. But feel its time to get into it again seeing as it will be what I am going to be teaching in two weeks as my first lesson plan.
Well thats it for me this third blog, I do hope someone in the world gets the chance to read my blog. Its no easy task running a family, working and trying to keep up your arts practice. I find it majorly challenging. I look forward to your imput on my website and any of my prints. Thanks Billy
